| | Hi I have a web service that has a response as per Web Service 1 Output.doc attachment that I would ideally like to put straight into the XmlVariable, as designed per the attachment, but when the Invoke Web Service runs, I get a "Root Element Missing" error. I have tried returning XML within a string from the Web Service as per Web Service 2 Output.doc attachement into a different Xml Variable as per the attachment. This runs without error, however, the XmlVariable does not seem to get populated. Do you have any guidance as to the using the Invoke Web Service and XmlVariables, what can and can't be done. I have looked at the help files, but it is not really clear. Cheers Jon

| | Hi, I got a cool document which might help you to achieve your scenario, you may give try by referring this doc (attached "Update an xml variable returned by the Web Service.doc"). Cheers, Sri

| | Hi Sri Many thanks for the response and the document. I have tried the scenario outlined in the document, but I still get the below error when it runs the Web Service and tries to put the data in the XmlVariable. If I out the response into a normal string variable it works, just when I try an XmlVariable does it fail. Exception occured while executing the action GetMMTMessage of type InvokeWebService for application Faraday, workflow .\nSystem.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing. at Workflow.NET.Engine.RunTime.PerformActionThread(Object Params) Any ideas why this would not work? Cheers Jon |

| | Okay.. Can you share your webservice method, workflow definition xml file in order to have a glance & then reply. And a quick suggestion. Probably you might get in touch with Skelta Support (support@skelta.com) as well since they might be able to troubleshoot/throw some light on this very swiftly. Cheers, Sri |
