I am trying to setup a Notification task using a local Jabber server, OpenFire, and am having some problems.

I have setup the Global Settings with the correct login information, added the properties line to the provider xml, and registered the sender user in the task.

Also, I am using the Description field in Active Directory to retrieve the IM Username because AD does not have an IM field.

I am getting errors when starting the Workflow Engine, and when trying to run the task: ". I have also seen a “the operation is not allowed on non-connected sockets” error when starting Workflow Engine.

When I watch the IM client window, I can see the user that is configured to send login then log out.

I have tried using ports 5222, 5223, and 7070 (HTML), but none have worked. I have also tried using a internet Jabber server, Jabber.org, with the same results.

The last attempt I used jabbernet.dk accounts and am now getting a response in the Log Console: "Message has been sent to = , From user = ADMINBRT

The global settings are as follows:
IM Settings:
Server: jabbernet.dk
Port: 5222
User Name: adminbrt
Password: The Correct Password

I am still getting an error during the Workflow Engine startup: "Could not login to the Jabber Server - the operation is not allowed on non-connected sockets"

I am currently pointing the IM1Username to the Description field in Active Directory.

SKEntity Table:

SKEntityDataSourceProvider:

I am successfully grabbing that value by testing it in the Logger Task, showing the <%#Variable.SubmittedBy.Description%> Variable which shows the IM id that is stored in the Active Directory Description field for the To: resource.

What am I missing?
