Hi,

I've created an application level WorkItemField which takes its value from a local variable located in each of the workflows right on startup.

I know that the variable has a value, as I can see it when I see the variables in BAM,

However, I have 2 problems.

1) I added the Respective WorkItemField to my Inbox easily enough, but it doesnt seem to be getting its value from the variable (though its set to get it as default value)

2) the WorkItemField doesnt even show on the list of columns I can add to Queues... Even though we have other similar fields created by someone else at implementation time... what am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Dave

Hi Dave,

I assume that you have saved the layout for the workitem list. First follow these steps..

1. In the workitemlist layout under settings menu of the process designer, click on delete layout and then check if the workitemfield that you have created is getting listed.

2. Then click on save layout.

Note: If you are using global layout, then follow the same steps.

Please check if the workitemfield is set for the particular action.  Follow these steps...

1. go to the activity properties of the action.

2. Under configuration, click on workitemfields.

3. In the list of the workitemfields, right click on the workitem field that you want to be displayed and click set workitemfield option and let us know the results.

Regards,

Arvind.

Hi Arvind, thanks for your reply.

In fact, I hadnt Deleted the old layout and re-saved it.

Also, I thought there must be some kind of trigger since the worklistitem was connected to the "local" variable, so I didnt update the worklistitem.

Is the only place you can set a worklistitem in a HUMAN action?

The layout only seems to affect the inboxes though...

How can I add the new workitemfield to the queues?

Hi Dave,

Regarding your first query, you can set the workitemfield only in the action properties of the human activity.

Regarding your second query, when you create the new workitemfield, automatically you will be able to access them in your queues.

Arvind.

Arvind,

I wasnt setting the WorklistItem, instead assuming that the default value, since it was = to a variable, would be set automatically. this has been fixed now.

As for the Queues, the problem was that I didnt Delete the Layout of each queue. so they didnt refresh the worklistitem ... ermmm list. hehe.

Thanks for your help.

Dave
