Can anyone think of a reason why i am getting the 'Test Connection Succeeded. However the login - <UserName> does not have dbcreator role in <ServerInstanceName>' error when the user does have the dbcreator role?

It is installed on Server 2008 with SQL 2008

I have tried

Different Users, Reinstall SQL, Reinstall Skelta

Thanks

Josh

Josh,

Try the below steps if you are using Skelta BPM 2009 with SQL server 2008.

Steps to configure Skelta Farm

1.       Go to Skelta installed folder. (For Example, C:\Program Files\Skelta\BPM.NET)

2.       Open Bin Folder.

3.       Rename SkeltaFarmConfigMgr.exe.SQL2008config to SkeltaFarmConfigMgr.exe.config.

4.       Run the SkeltaFarmConfigMgr.exe file.

Steps to Configure Skelta CentralConfig site with SQL Server 2008

1.       Go to Skelta installed folder. (For Example, C:\Program Files\Skelta\BPM.NET)

2.       Locate Web Folder.

3.       Locate CentralConfig Folder.

4.       Rename web.config to web.config.old.

5.       Rename web.SQL2008config to web.config.

Steps to Configure Skelta Enterprise Console site with SQL Server 2008

1.       Go to Skelta installed folder. (For Example, C:\Program Files\Skelta\BPM.NET)

2.       Locate Web Folder.

3.       Locate EnterpriseConsole Folder.

4.       Rename web.config to web.config.old.

5.       Rename web.SQL2008config to web.config.

Hi,

Regarding this issue['Test Connection Succeeded. However the login - <UserName> does not have dbcreator role in <ServerInstanceName>' error],

1. Please check whether the database user has logon rights on the Database Server instance machine and on the machine where you are installing Skelta Farm.

2. You can get help on this issue in the help documentation (Skelta BPM 2009 - System Administrator Guide) - Chapter 9 Troubleshooting - Database Connection Errors while Installing Skelta Farm (attached Database Connection Help.JPG for your reference).

Suggested solution in the help documentation would be: In SQL Server Management Studio, open Object Explorer and expand the folder of the server instance in which to create the new login.  Double-click the Security folder, Double-click Logins. Right-click on the <UserName>. Click Properties. Click Server Roles.Check dbcreator. Click OK.

3. If the above steps does not help, then try to run the attached test tool (attached TestConnection.txt file and rename it to .exe once you download it) to check the connectivity, accordingly you can take it forward to troubleshoot.

4. After performing all the above steps please get back to us in case of any further help is needed by attaching the Skelta logger console information while trying this scenario and with the environment details.

Thanks, Sri

We found the solution.

SQL Server Management Objects required for Skelta Farm Configuration are not available at any other machine than DB Server. So we need to install them in order to run Skelta Farm Configuration Wizard in any depoyment environment other than single server environment.

Run the following msi files:Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects

Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client

Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types

These files are available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=228de03f-3b5a-428a-923f-58a033d316e1&displaylang=en

These objects are required only if the Database Instance used is SQL.
